My Favorite Books from 2018

I’ve always enjoyed reading. As a little, I would sneakily read past my bedtime. I know, such a dare-devil. Needless to say, I couldn’t do 25 Days of Blogmas without sharing my favorite reads from 2018. Here are the 4 that resonated with me the most.

  1. My absolute favorite book from 2018 is Jump by Steve Harvey. I have always seen Steve as a lighthearted, comical guy. In his book, Steve takes a more serious tone to speak about faith and action. He tells his story of how he overcame homelessness and slowly grew to where he is today. He shares details of his triumphs as well as his setbacks, and He attributes His success to God and his wife, Marjorie. Steve’s story of perseverance and determination is admirable and uplifting. I was so inspired by his book, I decided to take a leap of faith and I’m so glad I did. Jump is definitely a must-read!!
  2. Next is Dating with Purpose by Ashley Empowers. She shares her journey of how God turned “a hot mess into a housewife.” Ashley’s story is transparent, relatable and inspiring. Her words are filled with wisdom and sincerity, and her faith is contagious. Plus, her book is still available for free!
  3. Sarah Jakes Roberts is one of my favorite writers. And this year, Don’t Settle for Safe was one of my favorite reads. As always, Sarah’s writing encouraged me to self-evaluate. She touched on purpose, learning your patterns and connecting with God. This book was transformational and I plan to read it again in the near future.
  4. The last book on my list is one I haven’t completed. However, I can’t go without adding it here. Secrets of Six-Figure Women by Barbara Stanny is a game-changer. So far, it has changed the way I view finances and has increased my confidence when it comes to building my income as well as pursuing my passions.

I’m always searching for new things to read. What was your favorite book from 2018? And what’s next on your reading list?
