Peter denied the one he was so eager to protect. And Jesus was rejected by someone He was about to suffer and die for. Someone He loved. It reminds me of the times Jesus has had to watch me make poor decisions after He has already warned me. But even when we waver, God's love for us does not.
Following God doesn't mean that we won't experience sorrows or hardships. However, He does promise to give us joy.
"I want you to show love, not offer sacrifices. I want you to know me more than I want burnt offerings." Hosea 6:6 (NLT)
