2018 has been a beautiful journey. In the past 11 months, I've experienced moments I'll never forget, laughter that produced tears, the sting of losing a loved one, and the joy of building new relationships. Sometimes we don't recognize people as "toxic" because we've already labeled them as "trusted." Those you spend time with affect your character. Don't compromise your purpose or your faith due to comfort or familiarity. Instead, be mindful of who you're attaching yourself to and if it will be worth it in the long run. Remember, “convenience" comes with a cost.
Multiple times this year, I've found myself in moments and situations when something I'd planned and worked so hard for, just didn't quite work out. It seemed like no matter how hard I prayed or prepared, God allowed doors to remain closed. I embraced the simple truth that no matter how hard you knock, God will not open a door you are not supposed to walk through.
You are worthy. And your worth does not decrease when other people are not able to see it. Your value does not lessen when you feel insecure, because your value is found in Christ. Your dreams do not become impossible the moment someone shoots them down, unless you decide you will no longer pursue them. Because faith without works is dead and if you're going to believe in God you must also believe you were created in His image and the desires He has given you will come to pass. That has to become your truth.
Don’t hide who you truly are - who God created you to be - out of fear of what others will think. Don’t neglect what you know God has called you to do because of the negativity and discouragement you receive from others. Embrace wholeheartedly His plan and purpose for your life.
The delivery of your words has a direct impact on how your message is received. You hold so much power in the words you speak. The Bible even compares the tongue to a small spark that can set a forest on fire.
Prayer goes a long way; it is a blessing to the person that you're praying for, and it also gives you a change of heart and perspective.
