When the little fourth grade girl inside of me felt the sudden urge to watch Princess Diaries 1 & 2, I quickly obliged. It had been so long since I’d seen either movie, I barely recalled some of the things that happened. Sometimes we don't recognize people as "toxic" because we've already labeled them as "trusted." Those you spend time with affect your character. Don't compromise your purpose or your faith due to comfort or familiarity. Instead, be mindful of who you're attaching yourself to and if it will be worth it in the long run. Remember, “convenience" comes with a cost.
Peter denied the one he was so eager to protect. And Jesus was rejected by someone He was about to suffer and die for. Someone He loved. It reminds me of the times Jesus has had to watch me make poor decisions after He has already warned me. But even when we waver, God's love for us does not.
Multiple times this year, I've found myself in moments and situations when something I'd planned and worked so hard for, just didn't quite work out. It seemed like no matter how hard I prayed or prepared, God allowed doors to remain closed. I embraced the simple truth that no matter how hard you knock, God will not open a door you are not supposed to walk through.
When I first heard of green smoothies, I thought they looked a little weird. And I was reluctant to try them. But after finally tasting one, I found they were actually pretty good. I've experimented quite a bit, but this has been my staple green smoothie recipe for the past 3 years.
I can't believe it's already August! This year has flown by so fast... with the exception of January, which felt like 3 months. And it feels like summer only lasted 20 minutes. However, I'm excited about what the month of August holds, including my blog tour! Yes, I'm on tour.

How amazing is it that before you were created, before you ever knew who you were, God made a blueprint for your life? He had ideas and plans to carry out and He knew you would be the perfect fit. It is such a relief to know that you aren't here by accident. There is a reason for your existence.
What if there was more to life than what you see right now? What if your dreams are actually previews of what's ahead? What if the very thing you thought was impossible, is actually God's will for your life?
You are worthy. And your worth does not decrease when other people are not able to see it. Your value does not lessen when you feel insecure, because your value is found in Christ. Your dreams do not become impossible the moment someone shoots them down, unless you decide you will no longer pursue them. Because faith without works is dead and if you're going to believe in God you must also believe you were created in His image and the desires He has given you will come to pass. That has to become your truth.
